Does Electrolysis Hurt?
Since certain areas of the body are more sensitive to treatment than others, the sensations associated with Electrolysis will vary. There are several very effective topical anesthetics that may be used to lessen any discomfort.
May I continue temporary hair removal methods while having Electrology treatments?
It is best not to continue these methods. Tweezing, waxing and depilatories should never be used, as they stimulate hair growth. If necessary, cutting with a scissors or shaving is allowed.
How will my skin look after the treatment?
In most cases the skin will remain red and swollen for 15 minutes to one hour after treatment. A cold compress is applied immediately to the treated area. This reduces or eliminates the irritation. Medicated cover up may be applied. It is recommended that an antibiotic cream or aloe be used for a few days to aid in the healing process.
How often will I need to be treated?
The answer to this question totally depends on the severity of the problem. A person with a few light hairs will not require as many treatments as someone with heavy, coarse growth. Other factors are age, ethnicity, medications, endocrine disorders, changes in life and what temporary hair removal methods were used. If your hair problem is major, you are going to need treatments significantly more often than someone who comes when the problem is first apparent.
Is Electrolysis expensive?
Initially it may seem that way, but as the course of treatment continues, the client comes in less frequently. When you consider how costly waxing and depilatories can be over your lifetime, Electrolysis is well worth the investment!
Do you accept credit cards?
In order to keep our Electrology fees reasonable, we accept payment either by cash or personal check.
